Healthcare Navigators Are Doing 'The Work of Angels'

L.R. is a Hillsborough County resident experiencing homelessness. In his efforts to find stable housing, he encountered Brandy, Family Healthcare Foundation Navigator. Brandy went above and beyond to help L.R. find support. She first referred him to Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO), where he received food and clothing assistance. She also provided a gift card so he could purchase personal essentials. Then Brandy assisted L.R. in applying for healthcare through the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan. He's now able to receive essential supplies to manage his diabetes, including insulin and testing supplies.

"From the bottom of my heart, I would like to express how important and what a difference these resources are for a person like me in this situation. I'm grateful to have met a friendly, compassionate person like my Navigator Brandy. The work they do for the community is the work of angels.”
